00900		1. As noted in Wilks' memo, the distinction between the
01000	semantic and logical representations is not clear.  For example,
01100	does the semantic representation give the referents of pronouns?

01300		2. In my opinion, there is much of value in the Winograd
01400	thesis and the related work (unpublished) of Charniak, and our plans
01500	should take this into account.

01700		3. I should like to see priority given to arrows 4, 5, and 2
01800	in that order.  Once we have these, we can measure our distance
01900	from the goal of having programs that translate from an interlingua
02000	into a variety of natural languages.  This would be very useful and
02100	measurable progress towards it would impress our sponsors, the
02200	scientific public, and ourselves.
